patrick de bouter

Patrick de BOUTER,

President
Based in Cannes since 1962, Patrick de Bouter studied at the Lycée Carnot in the humanitiesdepartment (French, Latin, Greek, Philosophy), followed by higher studies in the faculty of Law in Nice where he graduated with a qualification in Higher Studies in Public Law, and where he taught for a number of years. He joined the College in the summer of 1974 as «secrétaire animateur». Originally a seasonal job, his position became permanent when the College extended it’s operation to the academic year. In 1981, when the College was relocated to its current campus, he had been promoted to General Secretary, then, in 1989, he was named Director. In parallel to his administrative duties, he worked as stage manager with the «Compagnie 73 Théâtre de Cannes» with who he discovered the art of «mise en scene». This experience gave him the idea of using Theatre in the field of f.l.e teaching and founding a language course based on Theatrical expression, based on exercises and texts created especially for foreign students. Since then, he has transmitted these teaching skills during training sessions based on the use of Theatre techniques in language classes. Some of the pieces written by Patrick have been used in numerous foreign countries. Three of them were edited by the publishing house, «art et comédie». Patrick de Bouter has been a member of the executive committee of the groupement FLE since 1999 and «chevalier des Arts et Lettres».

philippe brochard

Philippe BROCHARD,

Secretary
Born in Paris, in 1949. I studied in the Sorbonne, as both historian and geographer. I entered the world of FLE through classes in French civilisation. After having acquired a solid teaching experience, I was asked to become the Director at l’Ecole Suisse Internationale. I have occupied this position since 1991. I also worked during a number of years in the field of publishing, and have written or directed over forty publications, text or audio visual; of a historic nature. This editorial experience has allowed me to acquire certain techniques that I have used while collaborating on a number of FLE publications, notably in the domain of French for specific objectives.

Florence GAUDRY,

After obtaining a diploma in French as a foreign language, I taught French in various language schools before opening my own school, Accent Français, in 1998. Currently, I serve as the director of studies of the school and I enjoy working with my team to develop new courses and improve the quality of existing courses and discovering new countries interested in French as a foreign language.
