Presentation of the center
Pascale Martorello is a native-French speaker, qualified teacher and a graduate of the University of Montpellier, where she specialised in teaching French as a foreign language and has many years of teaching experience in France and abroad. Pascale is responsible for the management of the school as well as the teaching. The school has been affiliated since 2003 to the "Agence de Promotion du FLE", a professionnal association of foreign language schools.
Presentation of the city
Cahors is an intimate but vibrant city of 20,000 inhabitants. It is located within a loop of the river Lot and therefore almost surrounded by water. The city owes much of its charm to its rich history dating back to the middle-ages. It also offers a wide range of shops and services, also cultural like public library, cinemas, theatre, concert halls.
Educational approach of the Center
Our approach to learning French is organic, similar to the way that you learnt your own language. The course puts emphasis on oral communication (speaking and listening, pronunciation). Some knowledge of grammar is essential, but you will learn this in the context of situations in everyday life.
Presentation of services
To enhance your experience, two afternoons are scheduled each week where you can discover the region and its culture with your tutor and hopefully put into practice some of what you have learnt. At Cahors it's possible to continue studying during the afternoon at the Library which has organized areas 'space' for language, multimedia including free internet access, news and press.
Lodging
Within one minute from the school there is a charming 14th century building offering bed and breakfast with a view onto the garden; possibility of using the kitchen, lounge TV and the laundry. Nearby you can rent of cycles an ideal way to discover the city and the small villages all around! Many others possibilities according to your taste! Inns, hotels, apartments with gardens, camping, family 'd'accueil' all located in the center or close proximity of Cahors.
